Terms of Use

1. Agreement and Parties
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and: Dimitar Stankov Dimov ("Developer", "we", "our") Zdrave 23, Sofia, Bulgaria Email: praxis@ddimov.dev Website: https://praxis.ddimov.dev Important: This agreement is between you and the Developer — not Apple Inc. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the app or its content. The Developer alone is responsible for Praxis and its content.
2. License Grant
Subject to these Terms, the Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Praxis on Apple devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
3. Restrictions
You may not: • Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the app • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code • Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the app • Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices or labels • Use the app for any commercial purpose or for any public display • Use the app to infringe any third-party intellectual property rights • Use the app in any way that violates applicable law or regulation
4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
Praxis offers the following premium plans, unlocking Crisis Mode, AI Stoic Tutor, all 23 themes, unlimited favourites, and full journal history: • Monthly — $4.99/month • Yearly — $29.99/year • Lifetime — $49.99 (one-time, no renewal) Prices are in USD. Prices in other currencies are set by Apple and may vary. Free Trial: Monthly and Yearly subscriptions include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. To avoid being charged, you must cancel before the trial period ends. If you do not cancel, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan. Auto-Renewal: Monthly and Yearly subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancellation: To cancel, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Praxis → Cancel Subscription. You can also manage subscriptions at: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions Refunds: All purchases are made through the Apple App Store. To request a refund, contact Apple at: https://reportaproblem.apple.com Free Features: Daily Stoic quote, morning intention and evening reflection, 30 days of journal history, 5 saved favourite quotes, 4 themes, Daily Quote and Intention widgets, and local notifications are available without a subscription.
5. Intellectual Property
All content in Praxis — including the app's code, design, graphics, text, curated Stoic quotes, AI-generated interpretations, theme artwork, and other materials — is owned by or licensed to the Developer and is protected by intellectual property laws. The Stoic quotes contained in the app are attributed to their respective authors (Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Seneca, and others) and are in the public domain. The curation, categorisation, and modern interpretations are original works of the Developer. "Praxis" and associated marks are the property of the Developer. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Developer's name, trademarks, or logos.
6. Apple Intelligence and AI Features
The AI Stoic Tutor feature generates modern interpretations of quotes using Apple Intelligence (FoundationModels framework). These interpretations are AI-generated and are for educational and reflective purposes only. They do not constitute professional philosophical, psychological, medical, or therapeutic advice. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent. The Developer makes no warranty regarding the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated interpretations.
7. Health and Wellness Disclaimer
Praxis is a philosophy and reflective journaling app designed to encourage Stoic practice and daily reflection. Praxis is not a medical device, mental health treatment, crisis intervention service, or substitute for professional medical or psychological care. Crisis Mode is a quote-browsing feature for moments of emotional difficulty. It surfaces curated Stoic philosophical guidance. It is not a crisis line. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline in your country.
8. Maintenance and Support
The Developer — not Apple — is responsible for providing maintenance and support for Praxis. If you have any questions or issues, contact: praxis@ddimov.dev Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to Praxis.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Praxis is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the extent permitted by law, the Developer disclaims all warranties. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if applicable). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Praxis.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption; damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app; or damages arising from reliance on any content in the app. In jurisdictions that do not allow exclusion of certain damages, the Developer's liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Developer's total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Third-Party Services
Praxis integrates with the following third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies: • Apple App Store — Distribution and payment. Terms: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/ • PostHog — Anonymous analytics. Terms: https://posthog.com/terms • Apple Intelligence — On-device AI. Privacy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/intelligence-engine/ The Developer is not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.
12. Termination
These Terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these Terms terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any provision. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the app and delete it from your device. The Developer reserves the right to discontinue the app or any feature at any time without notice. Sections 5 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Health Disclaimer), 9 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 13 (Governing Law), and 14 (Dispute Resolution) survive termination.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Nothing in this section limits your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
14. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with the Developer, please first contact us at praxis@ddimov.dev to attempt to resolve it informally. Most issues can be resolved quickly this way. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Republic of Bulgaria. EU/EEA Consumers: The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. We are not obligated to participate in ODR procedures but may do so voluntarily.
15. Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary
You acknowledge and agree that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy (https://praxis.ddimov.dev/privacy), constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer with respect to Praxis, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
17. Changes to These Terms
The Developer may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
