Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

2. The Short Version

• Your journal entries, intentions, reflections, and favourites are stored entirely on your device. They are never transmitted anywhere. • No user account is required. We have no server that holds your personal data. • We collect anonymous usage analytics (which app features you use, not what you write) via PostHog. No personally identifiable information is sent. • In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment information. • AI interpretations are generated on your device using Apple Intelligence. No content is sent to our servers.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is created by you, stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, and never transmitted to us or any third party: • Your name (entered during onboarding) • Your Stoic archetype and personalisation preferences • Daily journal entries (intentions and evening reflections) • Saved favourite quotes • Notification time preferences • Onboarding responses (challenges, motivations, life situation) • App theme selection This data is deleted when you delete the app from your device.

4. Analytics Data (PostHog)

We use PostHog (an analytics platform) to understand how people use Praxis so we can improve it. We collect anonymous behavioral events only — we do not collect the content you create. Events collected include: onboarding steps, paywall interactions, and subscription events. Each event includes only an anonymous session identifier and a timestamp. We do NOT collect: your name, email address, journal entries, intentions, reflections, quote content, your location, health data, or device-linked identifiers. PostHog processes analytics data on servers in the European Union (EU) and is GDPR-compliant. 5. Apple Intelligence and On-Device AI

The AI Stoic Tutor feature uses Apple's FoundationModels framework (Apple Intelligence) to generate modern interpretations of Stoic quotes. This processing happens entirely on your device. No quote text or generated content is transmitted to us. For complex requests, Apple Intelligence may use Apple Private Cloud Compute, which sends only the data necessary for the specific task to Apple's servers in an end-to-end encrypted manner. 6. In-App Purchases

Praxis offers monthly, yearly, and lifetime subscriptions through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card details or billing information. Apple's privacy practices for purchases are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ StoreKit 2 verifies your subscription status directly from Apple's servers at launch. This verification is a system-level operation and does not transmit any of your personal content.

7. WidgetKit Extension

Praxis includes a WidgetKit extension that displays your daily quote and intention on your home screen or lock screen. The widget reads a locally cached copy of your quote and intention stored in an App Group (a shared local storage area between the app and the widget on your device). This data does not leave your device.

8. Local Notifications

Praxis schedules local notifications (morning and evening reminders, trial-end reminders) using iOS's local notification system. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external push notification server. No data is transmitted to schedule or deliver these notifications.

9. Device Permissions

Praxis requests the following permissions: • Notifications: Morning reminders, evening reflection prompts, and trial end reminders. We do not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, health data, or any other system resource.

10. Third-Party Services Summary

11. Children's Privacy

Praxis is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to collect from any user. If you are under 13, you may use this app; there is no registration or personal data entry that would require parental consent under COPPA or GDPR-K.

12. Your Rights Under GDPR (EU/EEA Residents)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under GDPR: • Right of Access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. • Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data. • Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"). • Right to Restriction: You can request that we limit how we process your data. • Right to Data Portability: You can request your data in a portable format. • Right to Object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. • Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. For personal data stored on your device: This data is entirely under your control. You can delete it at any time by deleting the app. For anonymous PostHog analytics data: Because PostHog events are fully anonymous, it is not technically possible to identify and delete a specific individual's events. 13. Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights: • Right to Know: You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell. • Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of personal information. • Right to Correct: You have the right to correct inaccurate personal information. • Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell or share personal information. • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA right. 14. Data Security

Personal data that exists on your device is protected by iOS's built-in security (device encryption, app sandboxing). We take reasonable measures to protect the anonymous analytics data we transmit to PostHog, including HTTPS encryption in transit. We cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted over the internet, but PostHog uses industry-standard security practices for data it processes.

15. Data Retention

• Your journal, intentions, favourites, and preferences — stored on your device — are retained until you delete the app. • PostHog analytics events — stored on PostHog EU servers — are retained for 1 year from collection. • Apple purchase records are retained per Apple's policies.

16. International Data Transfers

Praxis is available worldwide. If you use Praxis outside the EU, the anonymous analytics data sent to PostHog is processed on PostHog's EU servers. No personal content leaves your device regardless of your location.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, please stop using the app.
